As bb mentioned it's all about what level you currently are at. Take 3-4 hours one weekend to do the GMAT Prep CAT exam and see how you do! It'll give you an idea of where you stand and what you need to study in order to reach your goal.

Just for a reference point for you, depending on how your diagnostic goes...most formal prep programs, like Kaplan, say their students on average raise your inital diagnostic scores about 90 points after completing the course.

And they say on average that students who score 600-700+ range study about 100-120 hours. So if you have 8 weeks you are gonna want to set aside about 12-15+ hours per week to study.

Thanks. 12-15h sounds doable. I can do 2-3h Monday till Thursday and then 3-4h Saturday and Sunday, so that should be fine!

Ok, so finally due to some problems at work I was able to do a CAT just this weekend, score was 410 (q33/v15). I've done all the MGMAT quant books so far, haven't done anything for verbal aswell as any OG stuff so far.

I need a score of 600 or more, my plan would be to go through the verbal MGMAT books now and work on the quant OG problems simultaneous. Any tips or improvements?

GMAT date is 2012-05-07

Thanks in advance,

Andy
