Your profile has strong elements, including international education, diverse work experience in VC, PE, and healthcare financial services, plus entrepreneurial exposure. Your state-level squash achievement adds a unique extracurricular edge. However, your GMAT FE score (615, equivalent to ~680-690) is slightly below the average for Columbia, Berkeley, and NYU.

While Duke and Vanderbilt may be slightly more attainable, boosting your profile through impactful leadership initiatives or an alternative quant certification (CFA Level 1, HBS CORe) could help mitigate the lower GMAT. Strong essays and well-articulated career goals will also be key. Consider emphasizing your startup experience strategically.

Hey guys, below is my profile, I have a very demanding job and am unable to give the GMAT again. My dream college for my MBA includes Columbia, NYU, Duke, Vanderbuilt, and Berkley among other

My Profile:
Based in India
Undergrad: Singapore Institute of Managment
CGPA: 3.4
GMAT FE Score: 615 ( Equivalent to - 680/690 in classic gmat )

Work Ex:
2 Years on the Marketing and Sales side of Venture Capital and Private equity (US Based clientele)
1 Year on the Marketing and Sales side of Healthcare Financial Services (US Based clientele)
1 Year Own Startup in B2B Lead Generation

Activities
State Level Squash player (India)

Would love you know your opinion on my chances at these schools for my MBA, or what else could I add to my profile to add strength.

Hi Tarun,

I always think that if an applicant has worked so hard to build their profile all through college and professions years, then they should go to the best b-school they can. Your profile has potential to make it into many top 15 programs in the US. The only thing that can keep you from converting this is your GMAT score. So, I am going to encourage you to retake, as the GMAT score will play a huge role in deciding your target b-schools. I understand about the time bandwidth, but you are just in March right now and have 6 months to prepare until R1, and 9 months until R2. Give it a go. Get personal tutoring help if needed and try taking leaves from work for GMAT prep.

For the programs you have mentioned, your GMAT score falls low and you will benefit from having a score upward of 685-695.
For the rest of your profile, the squash experience sounds good, but I assume that would be from school or college. Are there any ECAs or volunteering activities you are currently involved in?
