Hello all,
I was needing some advice on possible MBA programs to apply to this fall.
I recently scored a 620 on my gmat, which is a bit disappointing to say the least.
GPA 3.27, majored in finance from University of Houston. Will have just under 5 yrs of work experience when starting MBA program.
I am considered an "underrepresented minority" and have volunteered for an organization for the last 2 years that strives to empower and inspire the Hispanic community on the importance of education.
Post MBA, I would like to pursue Investment Banking, or Financial Services in general. Long term aspiration is to be a small business owner.
I will give the GMAT another shot, but assuming i don't score higher than 620 again, are there any programs that anyone could recommend based on my stats?
Marshall, Jones, Kelley, and Mccombs are MBA programs that I was interested in, however with a 620 I think Mccombs is out of the picture and the other three programs mentioned may also be a long shot.

If I were you I would do my level best to pull that score up. Especially if it's low on the quant side. Simultaneously I would recommend that you do MBA math.com, which is generally considered proof of your ability to do the work and business school. And you can also send your transcripts directly from MBA math to the school. It's an online self-paced program consisting of I believe 20 hours.

McCombs is a stretch but not out of the picture if your interview goes well. Your GPA and GMAT put you squarely in the very average applicant range. How relevant is your work experience? What will your answer to - why did you not do IB right out of BBA? Decided too late and didn't have an internship? I would think about re-taking the GMAT or also the GRE if a school will take it. I would apply to 4-5 schools across the spectrum. Good luck!
