Hi Everyone.
I attempted GMAT on 23rd and scored 650 Q48 V31. I consistently scored 710+ on every mock so I have decided to re attempt. I will probably attempt on 15th Jan(this time online)
I used Jamboree study material first time and I really need to know which study material to use to go from 650 to 700+. I am practising Verbal 700+ questions but have no idea how to go from Q48 to Q51.
I'd really appreciate if you guys could help me.
Thank you
Hello,
Garima999999999. You may want to check out the resources mentioned in
the GMAT Club Study Plan post under the Advanced column for a few ideas for Quant. If you have earned a 48, a 50 is easily in reach with a bit of refinement. I will say that for Verbal, you are embarking on what I would call a dangerous path, working through 700-level questions. If your scaled score is sitting at a 31, then, to be direct, you have no business picking apart such difficult material. You are not ready for it. I have coached a few people to 730 scores by advising them
not to touch 700-level Verbal questions, but to make sure they had 500- and 600-level questions under control. I set benchmarks for accuracy at these levels at 90 and 80, respectively. Basically, if you can
consistently hit these benchmarks for accuracy, then you will be thrown more difficult questions on the exam, and your score will reflect that. Remember, the GMAT™ is a test that punishes mistakes on easier questions more than it rewards accuracy on harder ones, so you want to do everything you can not to dig a hole that you then have to exhaust a few questions climbing out of. Many people make the mistake in their preparation of thinking that knowledge of how to approach questions trickles down from Hard to Easy, but it is really a focus on the fundamentals, or working from the ground up, that allows someone to become prepared to take on upper-level questions. (In other words, you will be ready when you are ready, not before, and there are no shortcuts.)
Good luck with your studies.
