Also a quick question to all the experts -
Based on my quant and verbal scores , shouldn't have I gotten like a 720? Also my quant scores were always in the range of 49-50 in the gmatprep mocks. So would it be worth to retake the exam ?
First, nice work.

Now, in answer to your question, your total score is not based on your quant and verbal section scores. It's based directly on your performance on the quant and verbal questions. So, your performance on the questions was 710 level.

To see why variations in total score could occur with the same section scores, think of the fact that you can score, for instance, Q48 with a range of numbers of correct answers. So, not everyone who scores Q48, or any other section score, has the same performance.

Thanks Marty! This certainly clears a few things up
Do you think it will be worth to retake the exam to move up my quant score by 1-2 points ?

The answer to that depends on where you plan to apply and other factors, and even if I had that information, I'm no expert on that.

You could move your verbal score up as well ...

Hello Everyone
I am happy to say that I finally scored 710 (Q48 V40) on the GMAT. Although It's not a stellar score , I'm very satisfied with my verbal score.
SENTENCE CORRECTION

Read mgmat sc guide thoroughly and watch gmatninja's youtube videos for more conceptual clarity. Practice only from official question (OG, GMATPREP . GMAT ADVANCED).
egmat's sc artciles were also quite helpful
here's the link - https://gmatclub.com/forum/e-gmat-s-all ... l#p1162634

CRITICAL REASONING
Powerscore CR bible is LITERALLY THE BIBLE!!! Read this book very carefully over and over again and you'll see CR questions make a lot more sense. Again , steer clear of unofficial questions; there are plenty of official questions here on gmatclub to get you through.

READING COMPREHENSION
I very strongly recommend reading 2-3 articles of the Economist magazine daily. Read those articles in the same style as you'd read an RC question; After reading each para, take 10-20 seconds to take in the information and see how it connects with the previous para. After you've done this with the all the paragraphs , take another 10-20 seconds to summarize the passage; Being actively engaged with the passage really keeps your brain to be focused just on the passage. If you've understood the context of the passage , then you should face no issue for general/primary purpose questions. For inference based questions , read very very closely and look for 4 incorrect answers and not for 1 correct answer. Practice only from official sources and LSAT passages , the latter are abundant , long and tougher than the gmat passage and are thus a great material to practice on.
For more additional material to read for RC , refer to this link- https://gmatclub.com/forum/extra-readin ... l#p1521080

PS- Reading the economist would also immensely help in sentence correction, since it following all the nuances and complexities of sentence correction.
PSS- I have half a dozen or so pdf editions of the economist , which is paid. If anyone wants them , feel free to reach out to me.

A quick shoutout to few of the legends here at GC , without whom my verbal wouldn't have improved.

GMATNinja - You , sir are a GOD. If it were up to me , I'd nominate you for a Nobel prize in teaching !!Your videos on YouTube are a goldmine; I remember days when I used to binge all your SC videos. I'm glad it didn't go in vain  Your methodology and means of explaining the tricky nuances of gmat verbal is insurmountable; whenever I had any query pertaining to sentence correction or critical reasoning , I used to scrounge for your explanations. And lastly , your love for food resonates with me , since I also find myself talking about food now and then

daagh - Your prowess in SC astounds me. Thank you for being so active and for answering each and every sc question and showing us the correct way to approach it.

Sajjad1994 - Thank you for posting so many LSAT passages; they were really fundamental to improving my rc skills

VeritasKarishma - your insights into everything , ranging from quant to critical reasoning, were always helpful.

souvik101990 - Your experience with gmat verbal really taught be a lot. (https://gmatclub.com/forum/how-to-impro ... 42361.html)
And thank you so much for those videos with GMATNinja !!

@Bunuel- Thank you for your contribution for this forum; you are a legend.

bb - THANK YOU FOR CREATING THIS FORUM!!! NO WORDS ARE ENOUGH TO DESCRIBE HOW MUCH GMATCLUB WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN MY PREP.

If anyone has any questions relating to my verbal preparation , feel free to reach out !

If you are going to aim for 730, retake is not worth it. 710 isn't much different from 730. You can think about a retake if your target is 780 but whether you need it depends on your target schools. Usually, 710 is good enough. You can add more value by investing more time in your app instead.

Hey tejasvkalra,
What was your accuracy like in SC and CR? My RC is weak but CR and SC are not that bad (usually 70-80% accuracy when I time myself 90 sec per question). My RC accuracy is roughly 50%. Did you strategize your test prep based on target score (accuracy) in each category? My target score is also V40.

Going by the accuracy on the GMATclub timer , my SC accuracy was around 85% and CR was 80%
I think you should focus on improving RC, their questions come in a row and if u miss the easy ones , you're doomed. I highly recommend LSAT passages for rc practice.
