Hello, I would just like to add my ESR. I scored a 780 overall with a 51Q and 48V. I had not originally planned on ordering it considering my score, but felt it may be useful data for those who are wanting to know what it takes to receive a high score. Plus, I was quite curious!

best,
lin

Nice work! A perfect Q51 with 1 counted question wrong ( \(\frac{6}{7} = 86\)% )--this further confirms that you can get at least 1 (counted) question wrong and still get a perfect score on Quant. However, 1 counted question wrong on Verbal was a 48/51 ( \(\frac{7}{8} = 88\)% ).

Thus, you were only 1 question away from the mystical perfect 800...

It is interesting isn't it? I was surprised that I had as high of a score as I did. Still frustrating to see that I missed one question in verbal at the very end...makes you wonder.
To clarify, I am in no way complaining and am very happy with my score, but just an observation!

Very interesting! I have also seen a perfect Q51 with 2 questions wrong ( \(\frac{5}{7}=71\)% ), but it looks like the standard is set a bit higher for verbal.

Yes, your 780 should do just fine. ; )

Thank you very much. I was glad to be done. As far as strategy, I did almost exclusively OG question. I looked at a few of the prep trials, but did not find any that I felt “fit” me. I encourage you, regardless of which prep materials you may use, to find what works for you. For example, some sources suggest not reading the entire RC passage. This never worked for me as it saved time, but at the expense of accuracy.
Overall, I took 6 CATs. I took the following:
GMATPrep 1 (Baseline) 710 (49Q/39V)-4 months b
MGMAT 1 730 (51Q/38V)
Economist 730 (50Q/40V)
GMATPrep 2 770 (50Q/46V)-2 weeks before
GMATPrep 3 760 (50Q/44V)
GMATPrep 4 770 (50Q/46V)-1 week before

Actual GMAT 780 51Q/48V
I took my last CAT 6 days before my actual test. Some people may disagree with this strategy, but I wanted to be completely fresh before my test. Plus, in the last week, you should really in the score range that you are happy with already.
