Hi All,
I've been studying for the GMAT for the past ~7 months while balancing it with a pretty fulsome workload. I recognize that the scores I'm getting are good scores in the grand scheme of things, but I am shooting for admission to H/S/W, and therefore trying to get above their median scores.

I completed all of TTP Quant and Verbal back in October, and have since been trying to narrow focus on my weaker spots, while also taking at least 1 full Quant test (using TTP all chapters all difficulties) and 1 full Verbal test (using OG - all difficulties) each week. Averaging low- to mid-80% accuracy on the TTP tests and my Verbal accuracy using OG is 97% easy, 88% medium, 87% hard. I've also been sprinkling in some OG Quant questions as well.

My question is, where do I go from here (consistent low 700s) in an effort to attain a 740+? Where should I focus my time? I'm worried that I'm plateauing and I'm not sure exactly where to get the points I need to break this level, and how to allocate my time appropriately.

My 3 official GMAC practice test scores are as follows:
1) 700 (Q44 / V42)
2) 710 (Q47 / V40)
3) 720 (Q46 / V42)

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I have never seen a wonderful split with such great potential.
Really it is good and I see you getting to a 740 easily.

For now, I suggest you to take an official GMAT and book the test and take and keep a score for now because you're in the zone. You will probably touch a 730 with dedicated 10 day prep.

And then, when you have that score already in the bag, you can go on and get an increase in second attempt.
I am suggesting this weird strategy because I know people sometimes overstretch their prep and then their score suffers because of running out of resources. With this approach you will build a positive mentality that you got a 720-730 in the bag and now you're safe for a top 20 school with a healthy mind to then score a 740-760 to then test your limits.

I hope this helps. Also, kudos on the Amazing Verbal scores. Keep that progress stable :)

Hi jman9273,

I'm happy to provide some advice. Can you please post a screenshot of your TTP analytics page, so I can see your TTP stats and course progress? Once I have that information, I can provide some advice.

Hello jman9273,

A score of 720 in the GMAT practice test tells the entire story about how well prepared you are for the GMAT official test and how to change the gear now to meet the target score in reality.

With my GMAT tutoring, guidance, and counseling experience, we have to accept the fact with a pinch of salt that diagnostic/ mock test scores are above then what one should expect in a real test. There is often dropping in the score. Some students have even experienced a drop of 100 pointers. It is one of the realities, and your preparation should not sideline this fact.

You can schedule a Free counseling session for 20 mins with one of our experts:https://calendly.com/mathrevolution/1-on-1-session for detailed advice on your current study plans

A couple of things that can be a noticeable barrier to your scores would be some or all of the below.

• Inefficiency by using time-consuming Conventional methods to tackle DS and PS questions still.
• No expert support (maybe) who can tutor, analyze, and guide you during your learning especially on hard level questions while stably hitting middle-level questions.
• Lack of many updated questions and practice in the recent exam trend.
• Not well aligned with time to solve questions.

Since we are a math expert, we will recommend you go through our post on the GMAT club: Breakdown of GMAT math questions and types: https://gmatclub.com/forum/overview-of- ... l#p1641411

We recommend that you must learn the Variable Approach for solving DS questions and the IVY approach for solving PS questions in order to improve your accuracy and save time while solving the question types.

Register with MathRevolution https://www.mathrevolution.com/member/signup to get access to our 7-day full on-demand course (27 topics, 490 subtopics, and 1,500 questions) for free trial lessons.

700+ level questions https://www.mathrevolution.com/gmat/questionbank are separately available, too. Start with the learning of the concepts. Make a habit of taking notes during the initial learning of the concepts.

The day regular mock tests show the consistent score of Q48+ with V39+, then it will reflect the positive change in the score, and hence, your confidence will boost up. Gradually, with the help of mock tests, you will be able to compete with time and therefore, will be able to learn time-management.

We appreciate your time and patience in reading this reply.

Success is within your reach.
Good luck!
