Hi
alexturpieCongrats on your great GMAT score!
I was going through GMAT score table and I found that (Q49, V48) gives GMAT 780 score but you got 770. Hard luck!
If your verbal performance remains the same and quant performance improves to Q51, you will get GMAT score of 790/800 as per the table.
I would suggest that you go through websites of the program you are interested in and find out GMAT score requirements for the program.
Since your GMAT score is already great, you may need to focus of other parts of your application in case you don't want to get a record GMAT score.
You may consult and expert in GMAT applications, if you need.

I have just written the GMAT and got 770 (IR8, Q49, V48). Obviously I am thrilled with the overall score but my score is mainly due to my high performance on verbal. I am wondering if my relatively low quant score will lower my chances of getting into a top Masters in Financial Economics program.
My top schools are Oxford MFE, Columbia MFE, and U of T MFE, and am not sure whether I need to retake the exam with a higher quant in order to be competitive.
Appreciate any insights.
