RaghavKhanna How do you know M is the midpoint of ED?

EQ = EM = z [tangents from an external point are equal in length]
ND = DM = z [tangents from an external point are equal in length]

=> EM = DM = z

CORRECTION:
The above is not required to solve this question. Please check the solution I've posted. It only uses the variables x and y.

RaghavKhanna, I know that the lengths of tangents from an external point are equal so I understand that EQ=EM and ND=DM but I don't understand that why are both the equations equal to z as they both are different pair of tangents.
