Let us take triangle AOB and BOC.
Both have height h, so \(S_4=\frac{1}{2}*AO*h\) and \(S_1=\frac{1}{2}*CO*h\)
Thus, \(\frac{S_4}{S_1}=\frac{AO}{CO}\)
Now, let us take triangle AOD and DOC.
Both have same height, y, so \(S_3=\frac{1}{2}*AO*y\) and \(S_2=\frac{1}{2}*CO*y\)
Thus, \(\frac{S_3}{S_2}=\frac{AO}{CO}\)
OR, we can say that
\(\frac{S_4}{S_1}=\frac{S_3}{S_2}\)
\(S_4=\frac{S_1*S_3}{S_2}\)
