A homeowner is going to pour the foundation for a porch which, when finished will be 8 feet long, 6 feet wide, and 2.5 feet tall. If the homeowner can purchase the required cement for the foundation at two stores, A and B, at which store will the cost of the cement be less?

(1) Store A sells only bags of dry cement powder mix, each of which when mixed with water yields 14 cubic feet of cement and costs $18.
(2) Store B sells only bags of dry cement powder mix, each of which when mixed with water yields 22 cubic feet of cement and costs $24.

Question : At which store the cost of the cement will be less?

Statement 1: Store A sells only bags of dry cement powder mix, each of which when mixed with water yields 14 cubic feet of cement and costs $18.

The cost of cement at store A can be calculated but the cost of cement at store B is unknown for comparison hence

NOT SUFFICIENT

Statement 2: Store B sells only bags of dry cement powder mix, each of which when mixed with water yields 22 cubic feet of cement and costs $24.

The cost of cement at store B can be calculated but the cost of cement at store A is unknown for comparison hence

NOT SUFFICIENT

Combining the two statements

Now we can compare that Cost of cement per cubic feet at Store A = 18/14 and cost of cement per cubic feet at Store B = 24/22

hence Cost at Store B is less than cost at store A hence

SUFFICIENT

Answer: Option C
