A jazz band will play two one-hour sets at a jazz festival. In the band’s repertoire are a number of standards and original songs. The festival producers have requested that each set have more standards than originals. The band members will play five songs per set, and have already planned what some of these songs will be, as follows:
Set 1“Giant Steps” (standard, up-tempo)
“Autumn Leaves” (standard, ballad)
“Marylou” (original, ballad)
“Phillip Buster” (original, up-tempo)
Set 2“St. Thomas” (standard, uptempo)
“Bye Bye Blackbird” (standard, ballad)
“Night in Tunisia” (standard, up-tempo)
The band members are considering what two other songs to perform, keeping in mind that they want to perform more up-tempo tunes than ballads in each set, and that they want to perform as many original songs as possible.
In the table, select one pair of songs, each of which the band could perform in either set, and one pair of songs, each of which the band could perform only in Set 1.
