General equation of line is y = mx + c where m = slope
With slope 1/6 and at point (−24, 0), the equation becomes
0 = (1/6)*(-24) + c
i.e. c = 4
i.e. Equation of Line becomes, y = (1/6)x + 4
Intersection of line at Y-axis is also called y-intercept
For y-Intercept, we need to substitute x = 0 in equation of line
Substituting x=0 in y = (1/6)x + 4
y = 40
i.e. Co-ordinate is (0, 4)
Answer: Option D

so given m= 1/6 and x=-24 and y = 0 ; value of y intercept c can be determined
i.e 0= 1/6 * (-)24+c
c= 4

In the above given point, can we infer that since the y point is 0 - the point intersects at X-axis and now we have to find the point at which the line intersects the y-axis. Also, we can find y intercept by either putting the x=0 or finding the value of C ??
