A natural history museum is planning two butterfly exhibits, each of which has its own theme: “Butterflies of Asia” and “Blue Butterflies.” At least 3 of the 4 butterflies in the “Butterflies of Asia” exhibit must exist in Asia and at least 3 of the 4 butterflies in the “Blue Butterflies” exhibit must be at least partially blue colored. Three butterflies have already been selected for each exhibit:

From the list below, select one butterfly that could be added to either exhibit and one that could be added to neither exhibit. Make only two selections, one in each column.

The “Butterflies of Asia” exhibit has only two Asian butterflies currently assigned; a third Asian butterfly must be added. Both choices (A) and (E) would work.
Similarly, the “Blue Butterflies” exhibit has only two blue-colored butterflies currently assigned; a third blue butterfly must be added. Choices (B), (D), and (E) would work.
Choice (E) would work for both exhibits while choice (C) works for neither.
Column 1: The correct answer is (E).
Column 2: The correct answer is (C).
