A rotameter is a device that measures flow of liquid and gases. When measuring liquid phase flows, 2.5 inches represent 60 liters per minute of liquid. With gas measurements the rotameter moves 50% of the movement he moves with the liquid phase. How many liters of gas passed through the rotameter if it measured 4 inches?

A. 176
B. 192
C. 202
D. 218
E. 284

for gas: 1.25 (half of 2.5) = 60 ltrs/min

1.25 = 5/4

So, if rotameter measured 4 inches:

1.25/4 = 60/x ---> x = 60*4/1.25 ---> x = 60*4*4/5 ---> x = 12*4*4 = 192 litres/min

IN LIQUID
2.5 INCH = 60

IN GAS
2.5 INCH * 50% = 60
2.5 INCH * 0.5 = 60
so
4 INCH = 4 *$$\frac{60}{0.5 * 2.5}$$
==> $$\frac{240}{1.25}$$ ===> 192

In case of liquid- 2.5 inches represents 60 lit/min.

In case of gas- 50% of 2.5 inches represents 60 lit/min

1.25 inches represents 60 lit /min

4 inches will represent 60*4/1.25= 192

2.5/2=1.25 inches for 60 litres
then 4 inches will give us how many litres?

4*60/1.25=192 litres
