approx. number of students = 1989*68.6 = 136445.4
closest to option C i.e., 140000

num of students/1986 =68.6
num of students = 68.6 *1986 =appprox 137
So 140

We can approximate the number of computers as 2000 and the number of students as 70.

Thus, there are approximately 2000 x 70 = 140,000 = 140 thousand students in the school district.

Answer: C
