Question does not look like standard GMAT question.
Team is collective noun and Hence Any plural verb will be incorrect. So on that Basis, A , B and C can be eliminated.
Out of D and E, D look better but not correct.
So i think there is some mistake in option choices. Could you please let us know the source of this question.

The quality of questions that you have been posting is rather poor. I suggest that you tackle questions from either Official Source or standard prep sources.
