Hi Jibs,
I am 28 years old and would have a work ex of around 7 years by April 2018. Is that higher in terms of the class average and will it have a negative impact on the admission committee?
Moreover, I would like to know how many people from Manufacturing background were able to change the fields (e.g. secure consulting jobs) as the class seem to comprise mostly of IT students and a very small percentage of students from manufacturing/supply chain background.

Dear anurag16,
Great to see that you have such a rich experience, but sorry to say that at Great Lakes we restrict the average experience intake to 5 or 6 years. Its done to avoid high expectations might arise in the candidates due to higher experience. In that past admissions, there have been few exceptions but then the chances of getting shortlisted are very less.
To answer to your next question, the PGPM has a rich and diverse pool of students from different industries. We have students from manufacturing background as well, and in the previous batches (including my batch), students with manufacturing background were easily able to make transitions to ITES, e-commerce, and healthcare companies with the roles of Data analysts, Sales & Business Development Manager etc.
Additionally, we also have Live project- a 6 months real-time problem solving project which students execute under the mentorship of industry/company expert and faculty. It goes on parallel with studies. Many students received pre-placement interview offers from companies in which they did their live projects. In this way, Great Lakes ensures that making a transition for anyone and everyone is made as easy as possible.
