A train after travelling 60 Km meets with an accident and then proceeds at two-thirds of its former speed and reaches 40 min late. had the accident occurred 30 Km further, the train would have reached 20 min late. Find the speed of the train and the distance the train has to travel.

1) 30Km/hr and 120Km.
2) 45Km/hr and 120Km.
3) 60Km/hr and 140Km.
4) 15Km/hr and 80Km.
5) Cannot be determined.

A logical way..

If it traveled 30 km more in its original speed, 40 min late would come down to 20min, so another 30 km in original speed these 20 mi. Will go down to 0.
So the total distance=60+30+30=120km

Now let's see the speed..
$$60/(2x/3)-\frac{60}{x}=2/3$$..40 min =2/3h
$$\frac{180-120}{2x}=\frac{2}{3}$$....
So X=45kmh
