Can someone please explain the difference between Active and Passive Voice?

Active voice is more concise than passive voice.
For example:
Active: I kissed that top model. (I wish! LOL)
Passive: That top model was kissed by me.
Notice that I have to use more words in the passive voice.

Also, sometimes passive voice is not clear about who is performing the action.
Active: I kissed that top model. (Who kissed? I did)
Passive: That top model was kissed. (Who kissed? I don't know!)

However, you must understand that passive voice is not wrong inmediately. You have to compare the other choices before eliminating a choice with passive voice. SC is relative. It depends on the other choices.

I suggest to read the MGMAT SC book. It is very helpful!

@gmatpunjabi,
though passive is not always wrong but certainly it is not the preferred option . moreover, in a sentence if every thing else is ok and parallel, consider making active parallel with active rather than passive.
