Is the Admitted Students Essay Vault still active. Has anyone used the repository in their admissions process. Did any of you guys find it useful

There is supposed to be an essay vault in GMATCLUB that houses essays of admitted and other applicants. Any member needs 400 quality posts to access it. I am just wondering if it is still operational

It exists...there are some essays but not a ton in there. Definitely has some value...there would be a ton of potential if it was revived and people participated heavily in it.

Starting this up again is not difficult at all. I found it difficult to obtain new essay submissions after the first two years.

In any case, if you are a current student and would like to voluntarily submit your essays to the essay vault, please reach out to me via PM and we can go from there.

Is this open to everyone or is there some posting # limitation to have access? Once I get admitted to Wharton, I'll gladly share my essays :lol:

I believe the number is 400 posts... but if you submit your essays, Praetorian may consider your request. It's "legal" to submit essays, I did.

Plus it's in a restricted area, so it's not like anyone can just Google and find your essay.

Do you have a model in mind? How it would work? Criteria for acceptance of essays, who gets access, etc?

Well, the forum is already there (I dont have access to it). Any admitted student could submit their sterilized essays to any school they were accepted to, regardless of matriculation. I would reach out to various members to volunteer whatever they'd like.

I think we determine a threshold for entry as before (say 300-400 posts for members or 50+ kudos received, all mods, etc.) which signifies contribution and commitment to GMAT Club.

Thanks for bumping this JB, I agree that the 500 post requirement may be too much, at that point the poster most likely has been on the forum long enough to have already submitted their applications (I have under 300 and feel I've been pretty active on here for a while) Maybe make the criteria for contributing essays that you had to have been admitted? Anyways, I'm willing to share mine.

I'd be willing to share some of mine--having the chance to read a few essays from GSB students early on was a big help for me in terms of figuring out what sorts of things the AdComs were looking for.
