flight and room booked already. It's not a close friend, so it's not that important that I go, but still would have been a fun time.

Hey guys - is anyone planning on going on a random walk? Are any couples going on a couples random walk? And does anyone know when they are going to release the new list?

As you can tell I'm excited about the random walk. :)

I haven't but that seems like a great option for someone wanting to do healthcare. There seems to be an abundance of interesting electives to take. Just make sure you really want to get into the healthcare industry because you will be sacrificing 4 business electives from booth to take those courses. Unless you decide to 4 courses every semester and graduate with 24 credits as opposed to the standard 21.

I didn't know you could do that. Well maybe you can, but have to pay extra as tuition only covers 21 total courses?

Are they going to release the list before admit weekend? I think signups begin just a few days after admit weekend.

From their 2008 Random Walk FAQ:

Registration will begin with the first Admit Weekend at 4:30 pm on March 7, 2008. At this time, a link will be activated on the Random Walk website that will allow you to register and list your top three trip preferences. At the time that you register, a deposit of $250 will be required. This deposit must be made via credit card (there is a $10 processing fee that will also be charged at this time- Amex, Visa, or Mastercard only). All registrations must be made via the website.

Soni,

They give you 3 free courses in addition to the 21. You have the option of taking those courses after you graduate if you like, or you can while you are at school.

Apparently last year, the GPHAP application (you have to write another essay) deadline was mid summer so I don't know how easy it is to wait until you get on campus and then get in. I'm talking to a couple of people in the GPHAP program this week so hopefully should have some added perspective from them on whether 1) the program is worth it 2) how it fits in with the rest of the Booth curriculum.

And yes, there def seem to be a lot of really great electives - that's part of the problem :)

Also - you can take extra classes?

Well I could be wrong, I know you have those 3 courses after graduation. May have to confirm with an adcom at Chicago whether you can take those during the program or not. I vaguely remember asking this question to a few people and they said yes but don't want to spread rumors

ok found this:

Ikshwaku: Can students take more than 21 courses in GSB or everybody is expected to complete a maximum of 21 courses ?

Kurt: A student can absolutely take more than the 21 courses required. In fact many students take advantage of additional courses whether through formal registration or simply auditing.

nice find terp26! I wonder how many students actually do extra courses - is there even time for that?
