I see myself at 3:22
I also saw terp26 at 3:54 (won't point out which one he is, will leave that up to him)
I also saw olive (won't mention the time, that's up to her)
I also noticed isa (won't mention the time, up to her)

woah I'm in there twice. Didn't notice that until I looked again just now :P

Can anybody shed some light on international exchange programs? Specifically:
>>> how does the recruitment process work (based on grades? language skills? some sort of application?)
>>> how competitive is the process (everybody wants to go somewhere? half? nobody?)
>>> when do students usually go on exchange (end of 1st year? start of 2nd? end of 2nd?)

thanks in advance!

Starting from the end:
Usually people go for the IBEP in the second year.

The process competition depends on the school you want, some schools are harder than others to get depending on demand.

The process is an application and I don't believe that grades and language skills counts (unless stated that you need it), ask for Irishfan, he's going to Barcelona during his second year's winter quarter.

Look here:
http://www.chicagogsb.edu/fulltime/acad ... hools.aspx
You can see that for instance in Waseda University in Japan language is required, whilst in IESE in Spain it is not.

So, guys, it is time to make a decision. It was great time to be here and spend it with all of you and it will be great time to be your friend in Chicago, a part of vibrant community!

I'm going to be in Chicago on 24th-26th April.

Awesome! Did you just make your decision or did I miss the big announcement earlier?

I am on the verge of making the same decision, but logic requires that I wait to see what kind of scholarships Kellogg offers me. I have been enamored with Chicago Booth from day 1!

Anyone else attended Worldwide Booth Night around your area?
I went to mine and had a pretty good time.

The good:
People were really nice and friendly.
There was even a contingent from the people who went to the program in Singapore.
The alumni sold the city of Chicago as much as they did the school. They genuinely seemed to have loved not just the MBA program, but also living in Chicago (despite the cold!)
Free Booth keychain! (Too bad I don't use keys anymore)
Most importantly, free beer! (They didn't charge the new admits.)

The bad:
Over half were bankers, and some really high ranking guys (e.g. Managing Directors,) but too bad I'm not interested in going into that field.
Only two admits (including me) attended.

For those who went, what was your experience like?

Mine was in Western Europe and:

+ very caring people (i.e. I was only new admit and they were sincerely interested in me and in giving me tips)
+ very successful alumni (Directors, Partners, VPs) from diverse backgrounds (marketing, banking, consulting, law)
+ down to earth people (no over-selling)
+ nice dinner ;-)

- it was more Booth Evening than Booth Night (I prepared myself for late night party with drinks and whole meeting ended 10.30pm without any drinks ;-(
- not many people (8 in total)
- I was the only new admit

Overall good meeting (at least I met some people) but below my expectations (no party, no drinks)

Hey, you might want to refrain from posting link to your FB account on public forum like this. I know most GCers are pretty nice, but you don't know how many weirdos are lurking around this forum. (Great pic by the way).

Hope to see you all in Chicago this coming fall!

PS, is my avator,,um,, too girly? I don't want nink to think that I am a girl (or a male prostitute)

I'm from Chicago, but my wife and I happened to be in Beijing that night, so we went to Booth Night there. It was a little hard to find--a little place tucked away in an alley--but we had a good time. Only two other non-Chinese there out of around 40, but everyone was great. I met three or four incoming students. Judging from the crowd (older, mostly) I expected that it was primarily Executive MBA grads, but most I spoke with had done the regular program in Chicago. A couple of them still had homes in the suburbs.

After being hounded by scammers in the tourist section for two days , it was refreshing to be with a bunch of nice people.
