They called me and the next day I got the email. Its in the 4-figures and for the first year only, so I was hoping to get a bit more but I guess its better than nothing!

Congrats! What are you stats? Couldn't find you on the spreadsheet in the other forum.

Congrats, Moss!!! Thats amazing news! Small $ is better than no $!!

I am definitely not holding my breath for fellowships/scholarships...pretty certain I wouldn't be considered. I am just grateful that they even took me (just being honest here)! lol!

I too got a small fellowship, applicable for first year only. Of course I'm psyched I got one, but I'm agonizing over deciding between CBS and Booth. Booth offered me none, and when I called them about receiving one from a comparable school and seeing what my chances are with them, they told me to "wait and see" - which to me means I'm not really considered. I put up a thread about my decision in the "business school review" section of gmatclub.

Heh, I got some money from NYU ($25K) and I did the same thing you did - I called CBS and basically tried to fish something out of them. Same response "Wait and see!" :P

I think you should come to CBS but of course I am biased lol.

I was just awarded a small fellowship! Has anyone else received any information regarding fellowships/scholarships? Website says info on that is going out mid-Feb and again in April.

Moss, how were you notified? Did you get an email notification on the application website that your status had changed?

The response from Booth makes me feel like unloved or not special! Maybe that's just me. But it sounds like you are set on CBS with no money?

yeah it was a tough decision but I decided that CBS is still worth the extra money over NYU.

I got a call from admissions. The next day I got the email saying my status had updated and my online account now had a letter from Mary that detailed the fellowship info.

Ah, well congrats!!! I hope to be so lucky. I just found out yesterday that my company is not going to work with me to allow me to receive my bonus, even though I will be here 11/12 months in the fiscal year. And I'm still stuck here for another 5 months....Sigh.

Not at all... deposit deadline quickly approaching (next Thursday!) and I don't feel like putting down two. That said, if I get off the WL at Wharton I'd burn the money to attend Wharton! I feel blessed and cursed to think about this choice. I created a poll on the "business school review" forum and at the moment it is 3/4 Booth and 1/4 Columbia. :\

Cidney, if your company isn't giving you a bonus, then why stick with them longer than you have to? Do you have to stay for those 5 months? Can't you leave earlier?

Wishful thinking Global. I have my apartment lease till June, but even still, I just need to keep making money and saving as much as I can till school starts. If I don't, and say, were to go on the World Tour instead, I'll be eating into the money I need to support myself when we get out to CBS. It sucks. Big time. :(

The silver lining I suppose, is that it will be that much sweeter when I do get to quit, and join all you fine people in NY

I totally understand! Most of us are in the same situation with regard to working to save money for school :) You gotta do what you gotta do!

For what its worth, I think people are voting for Booth simply because in the last few years it has been ranked higher than Columbia. I think people on gmatclub tend to get wrapped around the axle on rankings. I don't think there is a distinguishable difference between Booth and CBS in terms of recruiting. I bet the ranking differential is due to CBS costing more overall and having poorer facilities. I actually pulled my Booth app once I found out I was admitted to CBS, just because I want to be in NYC and there is no better school for it.
