I'm just crossing my fingers that the job market continues to improve for MBAs...sounds like the class of 2011 is having decent success in landing full-time offers from bulge brackets.

I'm hearing good reports from the i-banking club at CBS. Sounds like first year internship interviews went well for those who put forth a good effort. It also sounds like the second years had a high conversion rate from their summer internship to full-time offers. I think our cohort will end up having good timing on the job market.

Totally unrelated: I'm a hoop head, and I'm trying to go watch the Big East Tournament at the Garden in a few weeks. Any other bball fans out there interested in joining?

Something tells me that Columbia's Business School is more conservative and supportive of the military than the undergrad classes. I can't believe a room full of people laughing and jeering at a purple heart wearing 9-year veteran with 3 combat tours in a wheel chair---because he was shot 11 times...as he tells them there are bad people out there who want to hurt them....in a city where 9/11 happened.

Wow that is definitely very disturbing. Though, overall, I have heard some not so nice things about the kids in the Columbia undergraduate program, I definitely don't think this would be a reflection of what you'll see from graduate students.... I'd think we're a little older, wiser, and more experienced than to show such blatant ignorance and disrespect.

Sadly, I am actually not surprised by that behavior. The veteran should be commended for maintaining his composure and not yelling obsenities at the pathetically callous audience members. People like that cannot be reasoned with, it's completely futile. That being said, I have only encountered total respect from CBS alumni/admistrators/students when discussing my military service.

I'm not sure, I think it is a "Closed" group, which seems to mean that only members can access the content but it still shows up on your profile for everyone to see. I've gone through Facebook's privacy settings and can't figure out how to make groups private. Major Facebook frustration!!

Hey Bionic - I'd call the admissions office at CBS. We all have to complete several hours of pre-MBA work before matriculating at CBS. I don't think those materials are available yet, but since the school requires us to do that type of work, I'm sure they'd have some suggestions on resources you may wish to look at.
