I want to quit like others on here as soon as possible and travel a bit. Never been to Europe, would like to do that. The gf wants to get to the carribean at some point, want to do that. Seattle would be cool as well and I have a friend who is going there soon. The fiscally responsible person that got me to b-school is saying "stay at work until July. Try and make it to July 4th cause its a paid day off and so is July 5th." The rest of me just wants to quit now. Damn my conscience.

Compromise - stay until just after Memorial Day for the paid day off, then take some time to yourself and gf...especially since it sounds like she won't be joining you up at Johnson.

What percent of the admits attend DJ? I have a big deadline around that time and can't attend. I don't really want to miss out on anything though!...like meeting a potential roommate.

I don't have any data, but I imagine plenty of people don't attend. I can't see a majority of the international admits making the trip out just for a weekend.

The roommate thing is a hassle, you'll have to choose someone based solely on online interactions...potential for horror movie scenarios...

It's too bad there isn't a speed roommate matching event a la "speed dating". There's a lot you could cover in a manner of a few minutes. Morning person or night person? Vegan or meat-devourer? Clean/minimalist or messy/hoarder?

Agreed, this is a pretty great idea... I wonder how much clout we'd have at DJ next year... we should make this a reality for the class of 2016.

I'll be sure to suggest it to the DJ Chairs! Also, the "Casino Ithaca / Dinner Reception" event looks like a good opportunity to meet with all of the DJ attendees in order to get a good feel for who's looking for roomies, compatibility etc.

Personally, I'm withholding key decisions (whether I'm definitely looking to find a roommate, which housing complex, etc.) until after DJ. I didn't get a good look around Ithaca when I visited for my interview. Wayy too much snow :?

Night person, average cleanliness (not clean freak but a huge mess would bother me), meat devourer, enjoys NFL football on Sundays.

Has anyone heard of a good sports bar in Ithaca to watch the NFL so I can see how bad my fantasy players are sucking first hand? Unfortunately, I think I"m going to be without Sunday Ticket and the amazing Red Zone channel.

I know there's a buffalo wild wings near by (5 min drive), but yeah anything within walking distance would be better. I'm not very excited to about watching my Jets this season...

Also, we'll have to set up a Johnson fantasy football league.

Ive never had the Sunday Ticket but have wanted it for many years. The apartments i have lived in have all not allowed direct tv.

A bar is a must. Buffalo Wild Wings isnt a bad place, just jam packed Im sure on Sundays. Sorry to hear you have a case of the Jets fandom Highwyre. I have lived in North Jersey for about 10 years and I know of your people and its struggle. I am an Eagles fan and things havent been much better for myself lately.

I think we could get a cool fantasy league together (although I hate fantasy football) where we all can watch at the same bar week in and week out..

On a separate note, I stumbled upon this page and found it highly amusing.
The DO's and DONT's for using Cornell University's (NOT CU) logo.

There also used to be a rule that would "prohibit the use of words with all capital letters and dictate that the University name should not be smaller than any other name" ...but clearly, JOHNSON does not play by these rules!!! :twisted:

One thing I just read on the cornellbrand site thats interesting though, 2015 will be their 150th anniversary. I know it's a bit premature to be talking graduation... but maybe they'll go all out and grab an amazing commencement speaker...

I'm in, although I am actually pretty curious about how it affected their recruiting. I wonder how facial hair in interviews is viewed in general... (I hate having a naked face)
