Enjoy your time at BDW..It was wonderful exp for me in women weekend..I was impressed by the caliber of students to organize the event so successfully...

Btw, Congratulations on your Tuck admission refurb...so did you decide Duke over Tuck or still in selection process ??

I was just joking about the men only thing. I wouldn't worry about not getting a call yet, I think Duke is a little disorganized about communicating with accepted students. I've sent a couple emails so far that I haven't gotten replies too. :(

Thanks for the congrats. As to deciding between Tuck and Duke, I'm going to spend the time between now and ASW doing some research, but I will resist making a decision until after I've attended both ASWs.

It won't be easy! Each school has their own pluses and minuses. I've been incredibly impressed with both schools!

I have had a good experience so far as far as receiving email repsonses are concerned.

I communicated with them extensively regarding my transcripts issue and Financial aid, and always got prompt responses. I could not get my undergrad institution to send my transcripts; the AdCom lady was understanding enough to verify my originals and accept their photocopies.

@refurb, when is Tuck's ASW?

My lack of communication came after the accept.

I emailed the career office looking for a list of recruiters, no response. I emailed an adcom looking for a tentative schedule for ASW, no response.

However, I did email the president of the Health Care Club and he responded!

Tuck's ASW is the 17th of April. One week before the Duke deposit is due!

I've had great communication with students and the folks at CASE. Since my admit, I've been in touch with a couple of folks at their Net Impact chapter too.

From whatever data points I have gathered, Tuck looks great for Consulting; I am not sure of their HSM program though.

@Toubab, are you planning to be in the Net Impact conference scheduled end of this month ? I guess its one of the Tuesdays.

Also, Dan Ariely, the Fuqua prof who wrote Predictably Irrational, has a blog on his site where he posts insights related to the book from time to time.

Hey guys, congrats to all the admits. I am a round 2 admit and another prospective HSM student. Not sure if I am going to attend Duke yet but very excited by the offer. Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend the BDW as I have another event however I will try to make another trip down there before I make any decisions. If I go to Duke, definitely looking for a roommate as I come from non-profit and would like to minimize my expenses.

I never got a scholarship and I don't need a visa so it's the 21st for me. That's only 2 days after Tuck's ASW!

Also admitted. Will definitely attend BDW and decide afterwards whether or not to attend. I love the NC region and think I'd be very happy around there, so that's a huge draw. And my interests are largely socially-driven, and CASE is as good as anywhere else for that purpose.

Congrats to everybody, and I look forward to meeting you in a couple of weeks :-D

I'm in the exact same boat. I'm about 80% going to BDW (acceptance elsewhere or not) and hopefully will come away with a much better idea of the housing availability. I will say this - apt costs in Durham are much, much easier to swallow than around any of the other top B schools(save say Tuck)!
