I know it says W gives about 1/3 of the class some type of fellowship. Does anyone know offhand what an average package tends to look like? Is it on the order of 5-10K or more?

Yep. I just submitted mine last week...don't have any hope really. The essay I wrote was pretty dry and kinda boring I think. But let's see - fingers remain crossed.

I am thinking our PennKey should be coming over pretty soon..

jjright - Would you mind sharing what you think secured your fellowship? Was it one of the minority or emerging economy awards or are you just a bada$$? Maybe both. Haha.

I really want a piece of that fellowship pie, but I have been pretty pessimistic. Give me some hope!

I wish I could tell you dayman. I honestly just poured myself into that bloody fellowship essay and in the end, I felt like I couldn't have done a better job. Not that it was flawless or anything, but it was the strongest case I could make for myself.

The fellowship has no special designation, so I'm sure anyone can receive it.

You are correct when you say that getting that approval from Kroll feels like getting in. I always heard stories on the boards about people getting approved by Kroll in 1-2 days so when it took me 5 weeks I was really nervous (and very irritated towards the end).

Anyone have any idea what the average graduating debt is at wharton?

I know Wharton budgets $80K per year, but the figure seems to be somewhat inflated, in the areas not associated with tuition.

Hey Guys,

Have most people already received confirmation that their Kroll process is over?

Is anyone still waiting? I guess I'm trying to determine when people started receiving their confirmations and whether it was a mass email sent to everyone or if it is being sent out on an individual basis.

When are yall (yes - i said yall) deciding on the housing? Do you plan to look at apts over the Welcome weekend?

I am looking to live in Center City (Rittenhouse area) and was wondering if there are apartment search sites for students.

Wondering how people decide on roommates too..

I'm making a separate housing trip later this month. I want to be able to get as wide of a selection of apartments as possible -- before things have been picked over by other admits. I've gone through the housing guide and made a short list of places I want to visit and am scheduling meetings for that weekend.

As far as roommates, I think a lot of people decide on roommates at admit weekend. I have a college friend moving to Philly around the same time, so I might try to get an apartment with her. She's a doctor going to work in the UPenn system, so I figure it could help expand my social (i.e., dating) life beyond Wharton people :-)

I just got notification that they received my deposit last week. The deposit went through on my credit card in december :-)

Only for housing. I have a very low tolerance for crappy housing.
