All parrots can learn to speak a few words and phrases. Not all parrots have equally pleasant dispositions, though some of those native to Australia can be counted on for a sweet temper. Almost any parrot, however, will show tremendous affection for an owner who raised the bird from a chick by hand-feeding it.

If the statements above are true, then which one of the following must be true?

(A) Some parrots that can learn to speak are sweet tempered
(B) If a parrot is not a native to Australia, then it will be sweet tempered only if it is hand-fed as a hick
(C) The sweetest-tempered parrots are those native to Australia
(D) Australia is the only place where one can find birds that can both learn to speak and be relied on for a sweet temper
(E) All species of pet birds that are native to Australia can be counted on for a sweet temper

The answer is A.

Question tells us the following few things.
ALL can learn to speak
SOME native to australia CAN be counted for being sweet tempered(min 1 in Australia is sweet tempered)
NOT ALL are pleasant(but some are)
ALMOST every parrot will be affectionate to its owner.

A- Now All can learn to speak. Some are sweet tempered. So this must be true.
B - no connection between hand-fed parrots and sweet tempered parrots is given.
C- They said not all are sweet and australian ones can be counted to be sweet but sweet tempered ones arent exclusive to australia.
D - Nothing as such is mentioned. (same as in C, nothing is exclusive.)
E - We are just concerned with parrots.

I cannot draw any conclusion from the given information but what is provided in A:

If some of the parrots are sweet tempered and almost all parrots are able to learn how to speak => Among the speaking parrots there have to be eventually some sweet tempered ones

The key here is that ALL parrots learn to talk, not most. And since some are guaranteed to be sweet, this leads us to (A).
