Although Eden park is more better known than Jolly park, the designer of both the parks, Jerry Lawler, had a preference for Jolly park. [/u]
(A) Although Eden park is more better known than Jolly park, the designer of both the parks, Jerry Lawler, had a preference for Jolly park - No need to use MORE along with BETTER.
(B) Eden park being better known than Jolly park, the designer of both, Jerry Lawler, preferred the latter - No need to use the passive voice
(C) Although not as well known as Eden park, Jolly park, the designer of both the parks, Jerry Lawler, had a preference for it. No antecedent is present for IT. Moreover, this option changes the meaning
(D) The designer of both Eden park and Jolly park is Jerry Lawler, he preferred Jolly park - This option is a Run-on as two independent clauses are connected with comma.
(E) Although Eden park is better known than Jolly park, the designer of both the parks, Jerry Lawler, preferred Jolly park - Correct

So answer has to be E.

Official Answer (OA) – E
Concepts Tested – Meaning, Redundancy, Pronoun reference, Run-on
The use of ‘more’ and ‘better’ in the original sentence is redundant, so eliminate
A.

B is awkward and unclear and fails to make any logical sense

C - It appears as though ‘Jolly Park’ is the designer of both the parks. Also the
use of ‘it’ is ambiguous

D is a run on sentence because it uses a comma to connect two independent
clauses

E puts the modifying phrases in their correct places and is the best answer.

While E is the best answer. I just wanted to get more clarity on-
(E) Although Eden park is better known than Jolly park, the designer of both the
parks, Jerry Lawler, preferred Jolly park
Does Jerry Lawler not modify "the parks" here, as "Jerry Lawler" is immediately after "the parks"?
Example: Although outdoor sports are more physically demanding than indoor sports, Jerry likes playing racquet games, badminton or lawn-tennis. Is this statement correct?
