E IMO.

Among is used for more than 2 people so A,C and D are out.
Between B and E taller is to be used

Do we say :
Between x and y, y is taller.
or
Between x and y, y is the taller.

We use THE when we want to specify something.

I ate the breakfast

General usage is before the nouns, but here you can exclude nouns like countries names. There is much wider usage, but you with reference to your question it's the Former rule.
