First off, a big thank you to the GMATClub community! I've made it so far and have gotten admits from some good schools - need your help in the decision.


Post my MBA, I want to pursue either Tech PM roles or consulting.

My Thoughts:
    - Anderson seems to open a lot of doors with tech within LA. However, being an international student, visa sponsorships can be hard to come by in many local firms.
    - Both Anderson and Tepper seem to be great for Tech.
    - Anderson seems to have the upper hand for consulting.
    - Oddly, I have seen some disgruntled reviews about Anderson academics and the overall management. (one here on GMATClub itself)

Qs) What would be a better school for Tech PM opportunities, since I come from a non-PM background? Also, is UCLA considered a better brand than CMU?

Edit: bb Nikhil any thoughts?

Both are great schools and this is a great dilemma to have. All else equal, I’d choose Tepper for what you want. The reputation for rigor, and within tech specifically, is tough to beat outside of Sloan and GSB. For consulting, don’t count Tepper out. The reputation is solid in that space, but the small class size means it might not be as apparent in employment stats.

However, if you have personal reasons for preferring LA to Pittsburgh, that’s totally valid. Don’t feel like you’re settling if you choose Anderson. It’s a great program.

Tepper

Super strong tech placement and students seem much happier there vs Anderson.

Both of them are great schools and you will have an amazing experience wherever you go.
As an international and a soon-to-be MBA grad from Tepper, I will of course highly recommend Tepper. Tepper is very strong in both Tech and Consulting where there are ample opportunities for internationals. The student culture here is very collaborative and you will find help from everyone each step of the way.
