Gmatsaga

I took the new gmat ( the one with IR )

Quans - 49 Verbal - 35

I knew that I didn't do the verbal part well. I was tensed during the session. Lost control. I have got a 730 in my 4th MGMAT test. I thought
that i would definitely bag a 700. But it was a screw up. My topmost verbal score - 40

I studied engineering, course - Manufacturing. I am inclined towards supply chain management and operations research. I think i wont
get any promotion till 2015. I am from India and studied in College of Engineering guindy, Anna university.

I was a member in few non profit organisations. I intend to do mba in marketing. I will work towards increasing my profile in the next three
years. Pls feel free to through some light upon it, as how could I do it. During my college life i have conducted techfest and culturals.

Method

I think i wont get any promotions till 2015. I love to work for non profit organizations. Pl shed some light on what can i do in the next three years to improve my profile

Thank you

Method kind of told you. Make an impact on your organization. You don't need promotions to do this. Take on extra work that can have an impact on your organization. Volunteer to lead company initiatives. Also, demonstrating leadership is key and that actually means leading people. Doing great work to improve a company does not mean you were leading (although is also great application fodder). Leading must involve guiding, convincing, or helping others achieve a goal. This can happen at work or in your extracurricular and you don't have to have direct reports to do it. It does make it harder, you just have to be more resourceful and opportunistic. Leading a team or group of coworkers is great essay material.

Also give you are an Indian Engineer (an overrepresented applicant pool_ and you think you can do better on the GMAT you might want to reconsider taking it especially if you have 3 years to improve your score.

This is by no means perfect advice but its a something to consider. Don't worry about trying to assemble the best application material. If you work hard to succeed the other things will fall into place. good luck!
