Sigh. Had a phone call from an unknown number. Turned out to be Hult Business School making their marketing calls. :(

something similar here. For the last couple of weeks, was feeling low, and was in no mood to apply for any other school. Yesterday my recommender, who hardly praises, said my revised long-term goal looks fabulous. What a relief in these times of depression!

Now I am back to old ways of writing Wharton essays!

Again I see hope..

Random rant, but many of these business schools DO NOT abide by the CAN SPAM laws. There is no way to unsubscribe from any of their solicitations. As a marketer, I can't believe that their processes suck this much (e.g. no tracking mechanisms) and they don't have more talented students orchestrating their marketing programs.

Well all the usual suspects (Mckinseys, Bain, BCG, Accenture) are all present here. In fact all the MBA sessions were held at some of these offices. Several alumni at these sessions belonged to these consultancies.

Besides that, I don't know too much about how big the market is for these consultancies. It is certainly not as big as in the US or in Europe. AGSM is not awash with Mckinsey placements either. I would suggest that it is actually easier to get into MC in Australia via the US b-schools.

Sorry for getting back so late. I am in Sydney. You have heard correctly, Sydney is most definitely the place to be - both lifestyle and job opportunity wise. Although Melbourne is not a bad second option.

Which part of Australia are you in? I'll probably head off to Melbourne. But Sydney sounds tempting though. I've been told that Sydney has more job opportunity too.

Do you know how the business/strategy consulting job scene is like in Australia?

sigh. Another day without an interview invite. :(

hahaha. I didn't even know what F5 did until someone (I believe it was rhyme) complained about it last year.

As I can't use Gmail at work (the it blocked it there) I use my other personal mail, which is not blocked as is not as popular as Gmail, the F5 doesn't work for me...

I'm feeling miserable, I can't even concentrate on the essays I'm working on. This weekend I will work out a lot to stress things down, and then I will work harder then ever on my other essays as I see a DWI on its way...

I pushed back my fourth R1 app because it was just too much at this point with everything else going on to rush out without feeling confident on it. I am even second guessing my Tuck App and may aim slightly lower R2 since I aimed for 3 M7 schools with my R1 applications.

I don't think MIT sends out invites until early December...right around the same time Kellogg and Chicago start to release decisions. So that is going to be a really stressful month.

By the way GMATClub stats with invites so far have been impressive, you guys will get some.

I hope so. I really want to enjoy my pumpkin pie, but I gotta tell you - no invites is going to put a real sour taste in my mouth. That and I'll have to spend the time I would be watching football into writing more apps for R2 schools. bleah.
