Well, I can give you my two cents on Applicant-X.
Yes they are great with the essays, but they are great with helping in research, resume as well.
The best thing about applicant-x is not essays but it is their availability. Once you join them, they constantly help you with how so many times you wish to redo stuff. Since they limit consultant to applicant ratio, they have the bandwidth to help you a lot.
Now, talking about Essays.
For me, the major issue was the GMAT Score. I had scored 660 & hence had all my hoped pined up on Essays for ISB & NUS. I wrote a great essay as per me but it was uninteresting. This is where Applicant-X really came through for me. They know how to write man. There is simply no other word for it. They know how to evoke interest in something as mundane as numbers. They helped me craft really great essays for both NUS & ISB. At the end, I converted NUS & ISB & eventually decided to go with NUS.
Yes, they are expensive. I had decided to almost not go ahead with them. But, then I went ahead for just the essays part & that really helped build my confidence. Post which I booked them for the full application.
In reality, I weighed the money with what would have happened if I had to wait for one extra year to get into an MBA. And that worked for me.
Also, for someone with low GMAT scores, consultants who charge less & then just gives u a template to write would not help. You really need to work on one thing that can make a difference to your application i.e. your essays. So you need someone with exceptional creative writing skills. My consultant at Applicant-X apart from being an ISB alum was also working in the content industry, so creative writing came naturally to him.
In the end, it worked well for me. Hope it works well for you as well.
