I am so happy and excited to be here! My name is Shimri Winters and I head the strategy here at ARINGO MBA Admissions Consulting

A bit about me. I hold a BA in Computer Science and worked as a software programmer for a big I. T company. After my London Business School MBA, I worked in consulting, moved to some senior business development roles.
In parallel, I helped LBS interview 10s of MBA candidates for almost 7 years.

I have been working at ARINGO for 7 years now, full time, helping applicants get into top MBA programs.

Let me start this chat with a common question R1 (September) vs. R2 (January) There is a misconception regarding R1 vs. R2. To be honest, most schools keep the same number of places in R1 and in R2 and the chances are kind of similar. What is the best? Well R1 is better in terms of project management – you will know in November what is happening with you, and should you target any R2 schools. BUT, R2 beats R1 any day, for nearly any school, if your R1 application is not maximized. For example, your chances are higher, in any school, in R2, if your GMAT is 20 points higher, or your essays are better

Personal Info  Indian Male, 30 years. Serving as an officer in Indian Navy   GMAT Score 680 (Q49 V34) Not sure if I should appear again

Work History –

2019 – 2020
Inventory Manager
Single handedly undertook management and streamlined a large and fast moving inventory of over 10.8 lack weapon equipment.

2016 – 2019
Technical HoD – Corvette class of Warship
Headed the technical department of a warship and effectively led a
team of 130 men.
Efficiently led the team into border patrolling post pulwama incident in
2018
Was awarded Commendation by the Chief of Naval Staff for excellent
performance onboard the Ship

2012-2016
Weapon Officer – Destroyer class of warship
Efficiently led a team of 75 men to ensure optimal maintenance of

Hi, international exposure is not a deal-breaker at all But... "someone who has an average profile" is for the top schools... I wrote above a list of attributes schools look at, try to be "unique" in some of those! Hey, i have a score of 760 in Gmat, have a work experience in core mechanical sector for about 6 years with no international exposure. Have a strong extracurricular background with moderate academic grades. What are my chances in Cambridge Judge, Said Oxford and Kellogg?

I love military candidates, and the navy is even better! GMAT is a bit low, but doable...(a bit higher the better) it all is up to your applications
