My question is, what % or quant score are 700 level questions? Not just on the gmat club tests but the forum questions too.
Does 700 level quant mean 89th% like the regular 200-800 ranking would be?
My understanding of a CAT is that whatever difficulty you end on is your final score. If you are getting 50% of level 700 questions right, your final score should end up roughly around 700 because you get one wrong and drop and then get another right and bounce back. Would your score not be 89th% (or Q50)?
If I'm aiming for Q47-48 do I just need to be in the 640-650 range?
I ask because I want to make sure I'm focusing on the right difficulty level of question/am progressing okay.

I will say that it depends. I have seen some question that were suppose to be 700 level questions and finally are not...
If your are taking the official 700 level questions (given by the administrators of this website : Brunel for the maths for example) and you succeed 50% of them, I think you should score well because those are really hard questions!

Thank you for your response. I took a Manhattan CAT today and noticed that it has your estimated % (after you take the exam) based on your progress at any specific point. I received 33 level 700-800 questions and answered just over 60% of them right. My estimated percentage was usually around 70-75%. I ended up with 71% (Q46); that would be 630 on the 800 point scale. It doesn't really make intuitive sense to me that I would be getting questions only for 90%+ when I am in the 70% bracket.
I will make an assumption that scores have climbed quickly and most level 700s should now be 600s.
