are there other things working for you?
according to their chances indication model, the fact that you are european applying to an american school is an advantage, and if you managed many people and had many promotions it gives you a better chance at HBS.
by the way, if you're young (26-27) it might help as well, so don't wait too long :)

Well, you should highlight your strengths as much as possible, and an admission consultant can help you do that. in addition, you should really try to improve your GMAT, but you don't need me to tell you that :)

I thought about taking the GRE instead of the GMAT, but i heard that some schools prefer applicants who took the GMAT.
anyone heard about it, know if it's true? what about HBS?

One-time lucky case?

yes!
it seems that it was a brilliant candidate.....

for example: they advised a girl who is 25 now, who became olympic champion in gymnastics at the age of 19, she graduated from most prestigious local university, but due to her son who is 2 years old (other more significant responsabilities, other than GMAT) she did not care much about GMAT, and took it only once, after having a lunch with the prime -minister of her country who congratulated her and her team of teenagers on winning European youth gymnastics championship (probably she was more occupied by kids rather than by preparing for the GMAT). :-D

just feel the difference.

p.s.this is my 1000's post!

That could be an interesting marketing trick from Harvard:
first step: you broaden your GMAT range to 400-800 and attract all possible candidates
second: as a result, your admission % plummets to 0.5% and you boast yourself as the most selective school on the planet (even surpassing famous IIB)

Do you really think HBS need more applicants? to make more money from the application fees? they have about ten thousand applicants every year! and don't forget that someone has to sit and read all these applications...

580? Bull.

I actually personally know someone who graduated from HBS a few years ago who had a 580 GMAT. Her essays were pretty rough too (at least on first pass)! However, most other aspects of her application were pretty exceptional so she made it in and she's been doing great ever since. It happens just not very often.
