[EDIT: I misunderstood the question, disregard my answer.]

If I did not misunderstood, then "have the same effect in combination as they do individually" implies that there is no cumulative effect, and hence the maximum weight loss per week is just the highest of the approaches, which would be the 75 ounces per week loss from the increased metabolism shot. Hence B.

Even I understood the same. Can someone provide describe the language used in the question.

Not a great question to practice. We don't know what the blue line means. Is it the range of weight loss that one can achieve? Can any experts please suggest if questions like these are likely to appear on the GMAT? The question isn't very clear to me.

The phrase "have the same effect in combination as they do individually" means that each approach helps with weight loss by the same amount, whether used alone or together. So, if you use, say, two approaches, the total weight loss is simply the sum of what each approach would achieve on its own, with no extra or reduced effect from combining them — no synergy effect or the opposite of a synergy effect.
