let ticket price be $5

5 tickets = 25 $

discounted price for 5 tickets 15$

\(\frac{(25-15)}{25} *100 =40\)

let price of 1 ticket be x$

therefore Actual price of 3 tickets and 5 tickets is 3x$ & 5x$ respectively

At special rate Cost of 5 tickets is 3x$ ( No other information is given for S therefore S must be equal to 5)

therefore savings = actual price of 5 tickets - special price = 5x-3x =2x

% saved = 2x/5x = 40%

Dear Moderator ,
Just found this question, there seems to be a typo here , the variable "s" has been used instead of the number "5", leading to immense confusion, hope you will look into this and do the needful. Thank you.

Let the original price of each ticket be 100

Original price of 5 tickets = 500

5 tickets were obtained for the price of 3 tickets

Actual price of 5 tickets = 300

Savings = 200

Percentage Savings = (200/500) * 100 = 40%

let price of a ticket be $10

Price of 5 tickets = $50

Now i can get 5 at the price of 3 which will be $30

Money saved = 50 -30 =20

the amount saved
20= x/100 *50 = 40 %
