Average of any 200 consecutive natural numbers is 499.5. If next 1000 numbers more are added in it then find the new average.
(a) 1035.5
(b) 1299.5
(c) 1199.5
(d) 1099.5
(e) 999.5

CONCEPT:
For concesutive Inetegers (any Arithmetic Progression) \(Mean = Median = \frac{(First+Last)}{2}\)

Average of 200 numbers = 499.5

499.5 = Average to two middle terms (100th and 101st terms) i.e. two middle terms = 499 and 500

i.e. 100th term = 499 i.e. series starts from 400 and goes till 599

with next 1000 terms, new series will have 200+1000 = 1200 terms and mean will be avergae of 600 and 601st terms

600th terms from 400 will be 400+599 = 999
601st terms from 400 will be 400+600 = 1000

i.e. required

\(Mean = \frac{999+1000}{2} = 999.5\)
