Deciding where to live in Ithaca, NY and I'm trying to figure out which will be best for my first year of study.
Option 1:
Live with a roommate in an apartment complex that caters to grad students with many amenities - has study rooms, gym, shuttle. However, it is also very sterile and about a 15-20 minute walk from the b school. Unsure that I'll want to do this in the snow.
Pros:
-Lots of amenities (gym, shuttle, elevator)
-Sense of community (but can get super loud)
-B School roommate
Cons:
-Farther from campus
-Potential to be loud
-Sterile
Option 2:
Live alone in off-campus apartment that is super close to the business school (around an 8 minute walk). Has way more character with hw floors
Pros:
-Close to campus
-Could be nice to have escape
-More character
Cons:
-Potentially not as integrated with the b-school community
-A little more expensive
What are your thoughts? Do you find that it's nice to have a place to escape?
