It's been a while since anyone has posted a new thread for students' budgets.

Will current students please reply to this post with a general breakdown of their expenses (monthly, quarterly or per semester, up to you!). Bonus points for LA area!

I'm only referring to discretionary spending (eating out, treks, etc.).

This varies so much by school. The largest portion will be rent, so in Boston rent is pretty expensive. If you go to Tuck or Cornell you will save a lot. Beyond that, travel is a few thousand a year, books less than that and food/ent is at your leisure

Yea this will mainly be your cost of living in whatever city you are considering. Obviously you can still "live like a student" and have roommates, no car, etc. to help keep costs low. Other things to think about will be books/coursepacks, recruiting trips, social trips, some nice clothes for interviews.
