anuragjain37 Competitive GMAT is NOT sufficient but it is necessary especially for Indians.
Focus on finance schools where the average GMAT is less than 710 - start with Cornell, Duke if there is a good demonstrable fit with Team Fuqua, stretches would include UVA, NYU and maybe Ross. USC as a back up.
In France, I favor HEC over INSEAD for finance; the average GMAT is 690 so odds are good there if you do the app well (not just essays but CV, recs, essays, app boxes, and hopefully presentation/interview.) There's a way to do an internship at HEC which is key for most finance jobs. At INSEAD, only for Jan batch and there is just less momentum for finance there.
If you are open to UK, opens a lot of options ie Oxford and LBS.

I'm an engineer but have worked only in finance industry, with 3.25 years of total work experience.
I recently took my gmat and got a 730. My undergrad CGPA is 7.39 out of 10. I'm looking to study MBA in finance in either France or the US. Please can anyone recommend me the business schools I should apply. Thank you.
