#29 Stanford

That is interesting, right below South Methodist and tied with Ohio State

Weird how they can be 12 and 29 at the same time. I agree, the rankings are a little suspect on second glance. NYU is 15 in finance... :?

How do they rank things like team-work?
Is it based on student feedback?

Tuck is 25th for finance.

It is based on recruiter surveys? Perceived teamwork skills at the workplace?

That link only shows schools that made a top 10. That means Tuck and Cornell did not make a top 10 in any of those categories. You need to click on the individual specialty ranking to find them.

"we asked corporate recruiters with wide knowledge of business schools to rank the graduates of full-time MBA programs in a dozen specialty areas and management attributes."

Just click the individual specialty to get the full list. Yeah, Tuck is 25 for finance.

What a joke. Tuck at 25 for Finance? They have one of the strongest alumni networks on Wall Street and in private equity - albeit little to no presence in Corporate Finance positions.

Keep in mind that it's not just the recruiters from IB/PE/VC ranking the school's finance capabilities, so you'll have recruiters from MC, GM, marketing, etc. etc. ranking how good they think the school is at finance. And vice versa you'll have recruiters from IB/PE/VC ranking how good they think the school is at management.

No ranking system is perfect in isolation, this is just another data point showing the perception of a wide range of recruiters.

Yeah well it makes about as much sense as them being ranked 18th in general management. Right behind Thunderbird. haha.

These rankings are an absolute complete joke. I lose more respect for BW every day. Their regular rankings are bad enough. These are worse. I just don't see how they can even be taken seriously. USNews is the only ranking that makes any sense in my opinion. And even with USNews its only their overall rankings. The USNews specialty rankings are pretty worthless too.

That's a pretty strong statement. You need to take the rankings for what they are. They are what recruiters are saying about these schools. How are they a joke? If there is something wrong with the way they conducted the survey that is one thing, but if they conducted a scientifc survey of recruiters opinions than thats what this is. It's not saying what the best schools are in each area, but quantifying perceptions.

These are more accurate than BW regular rankings that have student input and intellectual capital as factors.

Just because someone decides to do a ranking doesn't mean it automatically has value. Perhaps I'll take a survey of everyone at my office, call it a corprate survey, and publish it on G-club. Just cuz I make a ranking doesn't mean it has any value. Did you actually dig into these things and see how preposterous some of their results are?

If we do a poll on each specialty in this forum, I am sure h/s/w will top the rankings..........
