I have not officially decided to apply but one of my fellow managers went to Michigan and has almost convinced me to apply. From everything I have read they have pretty decent placement in IB. Not sure how good they are for real estate IB though. 710 GMAT 3.6 GPA blah, blah, blah...we are all great in our own ways. Ross is supposed to be a great school to get in this year with the new complex and the administration looking to spend the 100 million $$ donation. Ross's ranking is expected to sky rocket once the complex is fully functioning

Ross is an amazing school and the new facilities will definitely help but I think skyrocket is an overstatement. Its already firmly in the top 10 by most accounts. And the top 6 schools (H/S/W/K/Chi/MIT) are pretty much entrenched and Ross isnt going to bump them in the next few years at least in reality, it could beat them in some rankings but not in true perception. Columbia has fallen off a little but still has a strong brandname and its new curriculum could help it a lot.

The only schools Ross is really battling it out with are Tuck, Haas, Duke, and probably NYU. Tuck and Haas are the only two that Ross is really behind these days and they are small which hurts them. I dont think Ross really has a place to go up because it already has solidified itself as a top 10 school and there isnt much room for improvement there.

One place Ross will be improving is internationally since it does have a rep of being internation student friendly...Indians seem to be loving Ross these days because the perception is they have a good chance of getting in there. That is one part of the "rankings" that is important to schools these days, the more well known your brand over seas the better off the school will be going into the future.

i agree with rr... you can only go so far unless others are falling. and every school seems to be getting a new building in the next few years.

Except Kellogg, who happens to have the 3rd largest endowment of any school (behind only HBS and Stanford)...so they have absolutely NO excuse for not starting to plan one.

Dang Nervous, you're cleaning up!!!

I still have 2.5 weeks to wait for Haas decision (well, interview on the 19th first), and no word on scholarships from UCLA yet (they said it'll come in a few weeks)... and then the long wait for Kellogg.

But I'm glad to hear of admits for Ross!!! New building eh? I'll have to visit sometime!

Now if only Haas finally builds that joint building with the Law school and increase their enrollment...

Wow! This is painful. I really don't understand why schools do this. I think the best way to communicate decisions is to make them available to all applicants and then call whoever you want. Was anyone else really unproductive today?

I should take the honours.....most of the last 2 weeks at work has been about tweaking R2 essays for me.... Ross,McCombs and now Kellogg.
I am sure my colleagues will be as relieved as me from Monday when I focus on work a little more :-)
