Just got my answer ... I must be really unfit for an MBA education if I can't express a simple question clearly :-D Thanks for saving me the application fee.

Hey Everyone!

I have been reading this forum and have found it very helpful so I figured I would join and begin posting as well! I recently got an interview invite to CBS (yay!!) on campus. I have been reading about the interviews off campus and was wondering if anyone had an on campus interview?....can you shed some light on how the on campus interviews are?

Thanks!!

Hi everyone,

So I submitted my application on 12/18 but one of my recommenders hadn't finished and sent my app into "incomplete" status. The recommender (who I want to throw something at right now) submitted the recommendation the day after the scholarship deadline and as of today, the status hasn't been updated from "incomplete" even though the system says everything is now in.

2 questions. 1. Is Columbia likely to still consider me for scholarships even though a recommender was late (big assumption, they're interested in me at all)? 2. Should I talk to somebody about the "incomplete" status? I didn't want to be a pest but also want to make sure my app gets reviewed.

Thanks for the help!

Is it me or has news from CBS been quiet lately? Given that it's rolling admissions, shouldn't we be hearing of interview invites more often?

I think you might have to call the Columbia MBA office. I'm curious to know the answers too. Can you post them once you find out?

@theoutlawfades , gkumar,

I was in the same situation. Submitted on 12/25. My 2nd Recommender submitted his LOR on 12/30 so my application got pushed to "after new year".
More importantly, i was assuming that when the team came back on 4th, the application would automatically go under review but it did not happen and eventually I had to call on the 5th to confirm the same. My application went under review 30 minutes after the phone call.

In short, Yes you should call them.

I submitted my Round 2 application at 3PM on the 6 Jan deadline, and the application only went under review a few minutes ago (after 2 weeks). Longing for the next status update...

I submitted on 1/11 and it instantly changed status to "Your application is now being printed and prepared for review". Its been in that state till now. Either they have a really long printer queue or I need to call them and ask them to pick it up from the printer. Well i guess I can wait for some more time

Hey Praz, Eminent!

I know you guys have already been accepted to CBS and you guys have been really helpful on this thread. I was wondering could either of you share your interview insights? Mine is coming up this Saturday and I might be starting to panic!!!

I have the basics - know my application, CBS...but any other questions that slightly surprised you?

Thank you so much for your help!

Wish me luck!

Who else is coming to Super Saturday to interview this weekend? When I heard "Super" I was thinking that it would probably be a mad house of people but I haven't heard of anyone who's attending...

Not sure if this has been answered before, why do some people get to go to Super Saturday, while others go through the more traditional method with the alumni interviews?

Hey -- You're welcome.

I would say that you should know your goals, why Columbia, why now, and a pretty detailed walk through of your resume. You should also be ready to spend a bit of time selling your work experience and what you've learned from it.

Another question to prepare for is the ethical dilemma question. This has been a mainstay at CBS over the past few years (although I'm not 100% sure if they're using it this year) -- It goes something like "Tell me about an ethical dilemma that you have faced? How did you handle it?". Please note that dilemmas need to have no black and whit answers... they have to be thought-provoking and you have to walk the interviewer through your decision making process.

Hope that was helpful.
