So I submitted my application on 12/18 but one of my recommenders hadn't finished and sent my app into "incomplete" status. The recommender (who I want to throw something at right now) submitted the recommendation the day after the scholarship deadline and as of today, the status hasn't been updated from "incomplete" even though the system says everything is now in.
2 questions. 1. Is Columbia likely to still consider me for scholarships even though a recommender was late (big assumption, they're interested in me at all)? 2. Should I talk to somebody about the "incomplete" status? I didn't want to be a pest but also want to make sure my app gets reviewed.
Thanks for the help!
I think you might have to call the Columbia MBA office. I'm curious to know the answers too. Can you post them once you find out?

As an update, I emailed the office yesterday afternoon and received the update this morning that my application was now marked as Complete and In Review. Also, they replied back saying that I would still be considered for merit fellowships despite the late recommendation. Whew!
Now, let's hope they like me enough to admit me and give me $$.
So I have emailed 4 out of the potential 9 ambassadors and only 1 has responded and they didn't have time to interview me. The Columbia interview invite page says I need to schedule it within 2 weeks.
Does anyone know if that means the interview needs to be done within 2 weeks or scheduled/decided upon within 2 weeks?
I'm getting a little nervous about this.
I would go ahead and e-mail the other 5 ambassadors and see if they respond. Sometimes, the e-mails and contact information in their database is out of date.

I agree with this. Also, if anyone reads this and knows the adcomms or something, can they please highlight it? It is bloody ridiculous that they don't have a more stringent process for contacting their alumni and confirming that they are available/still want to be ambassadors/will be in the country/have the same email. It takes maybe a few days, put all the replies in a spreadsheet, bam - there's your new ambassador list. The fact that this process is so poor had a major impact on my decision to not attend. I also emailed about 5 people before I even got a reply.
The tension is getting to me! I submitted on 27/12 and I see that people who submitted after me are getting interview calls. I guess I should be expecting a ding soon?
good luck with the interviews everyone and for those still waiting, don't lose hope already. cbs takes the 12 week thing seriously, you will hear from them soon. pls do read the interview reports in here as well as clearadmit wiki. and in case you wish you could talk to someone about the interview, i'm happy to help. just PM me and we can chat over phone or skype.
i understand that feels weird, my only take on that is, may be the first reader itself recommended them for interview whereas in the other case the first reader didn't. also, it depends on how quickly the reader reviews your app and whether or not they have started reading your app at all (most likely they have many on their plate and there is no order)

do you know how some folks who submitted in dec havent yet recd a call but those who submitted in jan 10th or so have already heard..how does it work?
I had my interview this weekend during Super Saturday. Seemed like it wasn't just for NY area ppl. A few people were from VA. One question I was asked that I haven't seen on the board was tell me about a time when you faced adversity.
Sorry about that. There certainly is a huge uptick in Indians applying to bschools (my observation, no statistical data), and bschools want diversity. I am still waiting for any news but am increasingly getting certain that it will be a ding w/o interview.
