I'm very nervous right now. I did not get the email. It seems very crazy to me that only some received the email. Surely, there is a reason for this. I cannot chalk this up to randomness. Maybe Tuesday when the calls start trickling in, we will have a better idea.

So do we know that they call all admits (e.i. vs. send email, or just change the status online?

Purely second hand info (albeit reliable), but they do call all the admits - unless there are some serious technical/logistical issues.

Yeah. Mine says "We are missing your official GMAT score report."

I just called and they said the message may have been just posted recently and they don't know why we wouldn't receive an email, but it may essentially mean that our application wasn't flagged for it (it wasn't urgent enough in other words) to receive an email about it.

Not too sure what to make of this. Though I highly doubt this makes a difference. I think I remember reading in the application process somewhere that official GMAT scores weren't needed for the application so I'm not too sure why this is happening.

I thought so too. I never submitted an official GMAT score. I just ordered one in, but was unable to get a hold of the admissions office.

Can someone verify? Are official scores needed before an accept?

Thanks,
Dan

Take a look at Booth's FT admissions FAQ:
"chicagobooth.edu/fulltime/faq/index.aspx"
Q: Are late test scores accepted?
A: No. It is best to apply when all of your paperwork is in order, as we do not review incomplete applications. GMAT test scores are self-reported via the online application for the initial review of your materials. (Note: Self-reported scores are considered unofficial.) Your official scores are required once you submit your application. Chicago Booth can obtain copies of your official GMAT scores via Pearson and ACT, Inc. only if you have granted our school access. Failure to provide our school access to your official scores may result in a delay of your application being sent for review. We will not make a final decision on your application without official GMAT scores.

They probably had a list of people that sent their gmat score in during the last X days and sent the email to them.

This really means nothing with the generic nature. It isn't saying "now your application is complete." It says "we got your gmat scores" regardless if you have submitted or not.

That unsubscribe button signifies that this email is very generic and has nothing to do with our applications.

crap - why would they not send an email about this? i'm in the same boat. i submitted my official gmat score today after this entire forum exploded and now am freaking out myself about what this means for my application and whether they even made a decision on it.

anybody have any insight on this? any R1 people admitted and didn't realize they didn't submit their official gmat score until later? please say yes...

ok it also says this..
Q. How will I know when you receive my official GMAT scores?
A: Due to the volume of documents we receive daily, we will not be able to confirm the receipt of official documents. If we are missing anything from your application, the processing team will contact you directly.

(emphasis on the last sentence) - they NEVER contacted me directly about anything being missing. Somebody make this go away...

no - it says not yet verified and on my application status it says "We are missing your official GMAT score report." I'm assuming the worst now. The fact that I did not receive any sort of email asking for my official report when they require one before a decision is handed gives me the impression that it's going to be a no. Ah well, I guess I have no other choice but to wait until Wed now. Gluck to everyone!

i am seriously concerned. I interviewed on 2/5 and my status still reads as invite to interview... does the status change to interview complete after the interview?

They verified almost all GMATs.....mine was verified on 2/7 and I don't believe that means that I'm in.

No, the status doesn't change. That's normal.

No, the status doesn't change. That's normal.

If you go under the "Interviews" link on the upper left, and then click on "View your interview schedule.", the interview status should read:
'In Progress
Interview Completed'

That's the last update you'll get before the decision. Now we just wait for calls ...

My conjecture:

I think the email went out by mistake. It doesn't have to do anything with who is admitted and who isn't. Somebody on the back end must have made some sort of an error and only a batch of people ended up getting this email.

However, it did end up revealing (like in my case) that some people's official gmat scores were missing. Now I never got a notification, and I rarely log in because any kind of status change was accompanied by an email. And as per the FAQs about official scores being reported, it seems like they cannot render a decision until the official score is in. So they cannot accept (OR REJECT) without that official score. I'm guessing my app (unless they're still making last minute decisions) will be pushed to 3rd round which honestly is worse than just being rejected right now. I don't know if I can take another couple of months of waiting.

Once again, good luck to everyone ! 4 more days :)
