We do not review applications in groups but the reader will have access to the previous readers' reviews. Our office hires students to serve as Admissions Fellows. These students will review the files(and conduct our on campus interviews.) Once the Fellows complete their review an admissions officer reviews and will make a recommendation. At this time a candidate is invited to interview or recommended for denial. If denial the Associate Dean will review the file. If invited to interview, after the interview takes place, the file is reviewed again by an admissions officer. A recommendation is made and ultimately the Associate Dean makes the final decision. What is it about Chicago Booth that is going to help you reach your goals? d. REAPPLICANTS ONLY: Upon reflection, how has your thinking regarding your future, Chicago Booth, and/or getting an MBA changed since the time of your last application? These short essays will require you to know yourself. You will need to understand where you have been and where you are going. Before you begin drafting the responses to these essays, take some time for self-reflection. Why do you want to return to school? Why is the MBA the right degree for you? We know that many of you will use your MBA experience to help you figure out what kind of job to pursue next. Even though your future career plans may not be clear at this time, you should still be able to discuss your goals and how they relate to obtaining an MBA. For our reapplicants, question 1d is where you can tell us what, if anything, has changed since the time of your last application. What has occurred in your life or career that has either reinforced or changed your goals? What lessons have you learned or how have you grown since you last applied to Chicago Booth? 2. Chicago Booth is a place that challenges its students to stretch and take risks that they might not take elsewhere. Tell us about a time when you took a risk and what you learned from that experience (maximum of 750 words). hi,

i have not yet got a call : 710/ work ex. 7.5 yrs/GPA 3.3/CA, CFA; from India; given that only 3 days are left what are my chances now? anyone knows what % of the calls are out? any stats comments on this pls post.

also did any one get calls on 11/05/2010? no one posted a call on that day? I was wondering?

I completed my Booth interview with an alumnus yesterday afternoon. We met at a local coffee shop and chatted for an hour. The only thing my interviewer brought with him was my resume and a pen to make notes. He kicked things off by asking me to walk him through my resume. From there, he asked specific questions about my work experience and he worked in the three questions that you should know COLD for each interview you do:

1. Why do you want an MBA?
2. Why do you want to get an MBA now?
3. Why Booth?

I was prepared to answer questions about facing ethical dilemmas, personal weaknesses, and a handful of other potentially tricky questions, but they never came up in our conversation.

For those of you who are waiting to interview, I encourage you to reflect deeply on your career, decisions that have led you to your current position, and where you want to go with your career in the future. Accepted.com has a nice list of typical MBA admissions interview questions (https://www.accepted.com/mba/questions.aspx). Review those and practice your answers out loud, paying close attention to your tone, confidence, and what you may be implying by what you say. You don't want to unintentionally imply something that would paint you in an unfavorable light - especially if that implication is not true!

Finally, take a deep breath and RELAX. If you're applying to top-flight schools like Booth, chances are you've already been through some rigorous job interviews that are designed to make you uncomfortable and to set you up to fail. MBA admissions interviews are the complete opposite. As long as you know yourself and your goals, the questions served up should be layups.

New to GMAT Club. Wanted to give a quick debrief on my recent interview. Interview was with an alumnus at his office. Interview length was around 45 minutes. Overall, tone was very conversational and laid back. He began with a brief introduction of himself. He had the chance to review my resume but did not bring it with him. Questions that were asked included:

Why MBA? (I offered to give a quick introduction first)
Why Chicago?
What is your ideal mix between case studies and lectures?
In what situations do you find it difficult to work with a colleague or superior?
What do you see yourself in 10 years?

For most of these questions, he jumped in to talk about his own experiences/opinions as well. My advice is to obviously be prepared for the why MBA, why Chicago questions. But allow the interviewer to lead the conversation. You can always suggest a topic if you feel it is important issue to bring up. Also, especially for alumni interviewers, have more than a handful of questions ready. I probably asked 10+ questions, and spent a big part of the interview just talking with him about his MBA experience as well as post-MBA experience. Good luck everybody.

I just did my interview with an alum in a Starbucks. It was very conversational and went well. Now for the long wait (39 days?) for Dec 15.

Awesome! Can you please post questions? Thanks! I know, after my interview in a couple of weeks, I can't imagine the wait. Well, that's the time to work on R2 applications I suppose.

1. List 3 personal achievements you are proud of, at least one of which isn't on your resume.
2. How would you deal with the constraints that come with the flexibility in the booth program. How do you make trade-offs?
3. Why Booth? Not unique I know, but it is important to contrast the school to show you have done your homework...

Fortunately I had a recent graduate interview me, so she was very up-to-date on the program and living in Chicago. As more questions come up, I'll PM you if you'd like. Right now I am detoxing. Interviewing on a weekend is not as easy as it seems

I hope/think they have one more wave in them... there was a big wave last Tuesday, presumably after they processed all their weekend reading and put it in the system on Monday... anyways, that's how I'm clinging to hope. We'll know for sure soon enough!

this is going right till the end.... not easy at all... specially as we have been doing this since 10/27. They have to come up with a one or max. two day thing. way too long a period to make people check their mails everyday!
